(94) Tom Waits :: The Piano Has Been Drinking

Tom Waits :: The Piano Has Been Drinking

I heard this song late one night on the local Classic Rock station. It changed my life forever.

Waits' voice is so unique that i can't help but turn him up whenever i hear him. Admittedly I'm not overly familiar with his entire collection, but I'm impressed by everything I've heard so far.

He his a contemporary blend of styles to create what i would call: "cool".

By the very definition of the word. Miles Davis style. Truly.

The blues, jazz, classical, pre-rock styles all blended into this whiskey laden contemporary blend ... it's like Bukowski incarnate.

Enjoy.

In the vein of awesome, while searching for this song, i stumbled upon this Tom Waits cover of Fats Waller ... the day before yesterday's blog-a-song choice. Awesome.
