Crystal Stilts :: Prismatic Room

I figured out today why I like Crystal Stilts so much; it’s because, and this has happened a lot with music, every time I hear a certain song by them, I say to myself, who is this? I like it! And then, because I have satellite radio, I check to see who it is and it’s them again, and I castigate myself for being old and dumb and do it again a week later.These guys are not extraordinary but they do fit the pretty consistent criteria of what I like to listen to, and it’s usually guitar driven, droney wall of sound fuzzy and kind of blurry too.

When I was a DJ, I figured out something I thought was pretty useful and that I keep with me always. It’s a bit a of a mantra to get me through difficult periods.There will always be a new song to love. First you’ll hear it in the background of a club, or a movie soundtrack then it will be on the radio and it will have become something you have got to hear again and again, and ultimately you’ll tire of it as a constant and move on to the next one. Knowing that indeed there will always be more, has truly helped me to sustain.
