Daft Punk :: Around the World
What happens when you get two French guys who like to wear robot suits together in the same room? They make great music! Daft Punk is a French Duo who compose very catchy, simple, highly repetitive, yet very fun, electronic music. And yes, they actually do wear robot suits while performing and during interviews. Why you might ask? Well here's one of their explanations:
"We did not choose to become robots. There was an accident in our studio. We were working on our sampler, and at exactly 9:09 a.m. on September 9, 1999, it exploded. When we regained consciousness, we discovered that we had become robots."
Around the world was their biggest hit off their 1st album, Homework. The video for Around the World is a highly choreographed dance, involving Spacemen, Mummies, Synchronized swimmers, Skeletons and Breakdancers. If that doesn't scream "Watch Me" then I don't know what does. Each group of dancers is a physical representation of the 5 instruments used to make up the song.
So check em out...you just might like em.
